As The Princess and the Kiss increased in popularity with its message of “saving the kiss,” the author, Jennie Bishop, began to hear comments from many mothers who were looking for a similar resource for their sons.

In response to those requests, Jennie and her husband Randy collaborated to create The Squire and the Scroll. This parable about integrity and purity for boys features adventure and a quest … not to mention a fire-breathing dragon!

The Squire and the Scroll reflects the concept of what Jennie calls the “five doors” of the heart, a foundational aspect of a lifetime purity training methodology Jennie calls Planned Purity. The squire faces five quests that reflect the necessity of guarding input from the five senses, an aspect of purity of heart simple for children to understand.

Revive Our Hearts partnered again with Jennie to create a 21-lesson study from the book: Life Lessons from The Squire and the Scroll.  The book included a ceremony for boys 8-12, and became a valuable tool for parents teaching their sons about purity of heart and body.

Now a complete purity curriculum for boys and girls is available through The Princess and The Squire and their accompanying Life Lessons.

Today all four books are used worldwide in purity training for children, parents and individuals. Jennie’s lifetime approach to purity training, Planned Purity, has developed through teaching opportunities created by the stories. This model for purity training is facilitated through PurityWorks, a not-for-profit group dedicated to lifetime purity training on a global scale.
